This page uses the wording of our own published documents and no stronger wording than that. Where a stronger word would be wrong, it is not here.
The words on this page
Our own published documents say that the company operates in accordance with the Indian geospatial framework. They do not use the words compliant, approved or certified, because no authority has certified or approved anything.The difference between those two forms of words is the difference between describing a posture and claiming a certification somebody issued. This site uses the first, on every page, including this one.
So this site uses the document's own wording, word for word, and says less where it would otherwise be saying more than it can back.
Indian geospatial regulation
Alons Advanced Technologies Private Limited operates LAZweaver in accordance with the Guidelines for Acquiring and Producing Geospatial Data and Geospatial Data Services Including Maps (Department of Science and Technology, 15 February 2021) and the National Geospatial Policy, 2022 (S.O. 6095(E), notified 28 December 2022, which does not supersede the 2021 Guidelines).
The framework in detail, and what it asks of you
Where the data is
All processing of Indian point-cloud data on LAZweaver takes place, and all such data is stored, exclusively within the India data plane (in-mumbai-1, AWS Mumbai). Point coordinates, classified clouds and derived surfaces do not transit foreign edge proxies, international CDN workers, overseas key-value stores or international log aggregators.
Data protection
The SPDI Rules, 2011 are the presently operative statutory security framework. The substantive provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 are not yet in force; their scheme has been implemented voluntarily ahead of commencement.
Selling outside India
LAZweaver sells to businesses in other countries from an Indian cell, and says so plainly rather than implying a local presence it does not have. A customer processing data elsewhere is responsible for that jurisdiction's own rules on survey, acquisition, mapping and export.
The state of the documents
The legal suite below is published in draft. It has not been reviewed by counsel and no customer has been asked to accept it.
